Farewell Wayne, Welcome Steve!

Wayne Mote and his lovely wife Gina have given countless hours to Troop 69 over the past 5 years on the troop committee. The last 4 years Wayne served as the Troop Committee Chairman, and did an outstanding job! Wayne did almost 100% of the recruitment of the great scouters (adult leaders) that have been fundamental to carrying on Troop 69's longstanding tradition of one of the best troops in the Atlanta Area Council. And Wayne kept a steady hand on the tiller during last year's transition of the Scoutmaster position from Peter Voorhees to Drew Barnard.

For well over a year since Gina's son earned his Eagle rank and "graduated" on to the many other demands of a high schoolers time, Wayne and Gina have continued to contribute literally hours and hours each week to our Troop. We thank you Wayne and Gina!

We want to welcome Steve Tipton, who has graciously agreed to step into Wayne's shoes. Although he has big shoes to fill, Steve has already demonstrated his leadership during this transition period and we can tell that the troop is in good hands. I wonder if a part of that relates to the fact that Steve himself is an Eagle Scout... hmmm, is there a connection here?
