Jon Meets Governor Perdue

On February 11th of this year (2003)  Scout Jonathan Samuel S. of Troop 69 in Alpharetta met with Gov. Sonny Perdue.

To assist Jonathan in fulfilling his BSA citizenship merit badge work, Gov Perdue, a previous scout, took a few moments off his busy schedule to discuss with Jon what our forefathers intended when constructing our constitutional rights. Although most discussions of this nature are rather lengthy, it only took a mention of UGA to divert their conversation on to "Life at the University of Georgia" Gov. Perdue's alma mater and Jon's dream college/college of choice. The two's discussion later took a turn to flying, a love that both Jon and Gov. Perdue share.

We thank Gov. Perdue for his part in educating and encouraging our youth.
